“Venture outside your comfort zone. The rewards are worth it.” – Rapunzel, Tangled
Tarani is an Operations Executive at Thrive Psychology Clinic.
Tarani Elangcovan is a dedicated second-year undergraduate student at the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS), pursuing a Bachelor of Psychology. Her passion for understanding human behaviour and helping others has been a defining aspect of her life from a young age. This passion was sparked when she was just 13 years old, during a pivotal experience with her secondary school guidance counsellor.
That meaningful interaction opened her eyes to the profound impact psychological support can have on individuals, and from that moment on, she knew she wanted to be someone who could provide that same kind of help and support to others.
Over the years, Tarani has nurtured this early spark into a deep commitment to the field of psychology. She is especially drawn to the emotional and developmental aspects of mental health, and she hopes to contribute meaningfully to the well-being of others through both academic learning and hands-on experience.
Currently, Tarani works part-time at Thrive Psychology Clinic as an Operations Executive. In this role, she is exposed to the everyday workings of a professional mental health environment—an experience that has been both eye-opening and enriching. From managing clinic operations to interacting with clients in a compassionate and respectful manner, she is constantly learning about the nuances of mental healthcare delivery. This practical exposure has further solidified her goal of becoming a mental health professional who not only understands psychological theory but also applies it with empathy and cultural sensitivity.
Beyond her academic and work pursuits, Tarani is known for her warmth, reliability, and genuine desire to uplift those around her. Whether volunteering, studying, or working, she approaches every opportunity with an open mind and a strong sense of purpose. She hopes to eventually specialize in areas such as adolescent mental health or clinical psychology, where she can make a long-term, meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and communities.

Tarani believes that psychology is not just a subject—it’s a lifelong calling. With a firm foundation in theory, real-world experience, and an unwavering desire to help others, she is excited to continue her journey in the mental health field and make a positive impact in the world.
