First visit: At Thrive Psychology Clinic, we believe that it is vital to gain a better understanding of our client’s current situation through an initial consultation. After which, we will be able to recommend the most suitable and effective services to improve our client’s overall well-being. By the end of the first session, you will get a glimpse of understanding your child’s behaviour. Cost: ranges from $160 to $180

03

Why should I come for Initial Consultation? How is it different from therapy sessions?

The initial consultation is a 1-hour consultation that allows our head psychologist to get a better understanding of you and your child’s needs, and assigns a suitable therapist to your child. On the other hand, our therapy sessions are the implementation of an individualised therapy plan for the child, where the assigned therapist builds rapport with your child and focuses on working with his/her challenges.

04

Does treatment start during initial consultation?

Therapy sessions would start after the initial consultation, as the initial consultation is for our head psychologist to get an idea/understanding of the parent’s and child’s needs.

05

Do I need to bring my child for the initial consultation?

We strongly encourage you and your child to both be present during the initial consultation as this would better help our head psychologist in assigning a suitable therapist and providing tailored recommendations that best supports your child.

06

Will my child incur a medical record after attending a session?

As Thrive Psychology Clinic is a private clinic, no medical record will be incurred unless otherwise requested by the client.

07

Does your clinic accept walk-in appointments?

As first time clients are required to undergo an initial consultation, you may arrange for your first consultation via our website online or in person.

08

Do I need to have my child diagnosed in order to get them started on therapy?

A diagnosis is not required for therapy sessions to occur. Should you wish to get a diagnosis for your child, you may consult our head psychologist during the initial consultation for further advice and recommendations.

09

How can therapy benefit my child?

Therapy can help your child understand themselves better and enhance their abilities and skills used to function daily such as in school or at home. Additionally, therapy works towards supporting and integrating them into society. At Thrive Psychology Clinic, we aim to help address and manage techniques that your child can adopt in order to manage their challenges.

10

Does your clinic provide support for adults and elderly?

Yes, adults or elderly struggling with mental health, dementia or other progressive diseases may seek support here at Thrive Psychology Clinic.

11
