Mike Tan

Mike, a placement practitioner at Thrive Psychology Clinic, is also a therapist-in-training from The School of Positive Psychology (TSPP).

Mike Tan is a dedicated trainee counsellor currently pursuing his Postgraduate Diploma in Psychotherapy and Counselling at The School of Positive Psychology. With nearly five years of experience in the mental health space, Mike has developed a strong foundation in providing empathic and compassionate support to individuals navigating emotional distress and life’s challenges.

 

Drawing on his personal journey and diverse professional background – including his years as a public speaker and presenter - Mike brings a unique blend of empathy, deep listening, non-judgment and effective communication to his therapeutic practice. He has a strong passion for creating safe spaces where clients feel seen, heard and empowered.

 

Mike is also actively involved with the Samaritans of Singapore as an adjunct trainer and volunteer facilitator, delivering impactful suicide prevention classes and engaging in meaningful conversations around suicide intervention and emotional wellbeing. His work reflects a humanistic, trauma-informed and person-centred approach, with a special interest in supporting marginalized communities, those in grief and those experiencing complex trauma.
