Leanne

“People start to heal the moment they feel heard.”

— Cheryl Richardson

Leanne is a behavioural therapist at Thrive Psychology Clinic.

Leanne is a motivated and compassionate Behavioural Therapist who seeks to understand and bring comfort to those in need of help. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Behavioural and Psychological Sciences and aims to pursue professional development in child and adolescent behavioural therapy, deepening her expertise through workshops and supervised evidence-based training.

Leanne brings with her a strong foundation in psychology and a passion for promoting positive behavioural change in children and teenagers aged 4 to 18 years. With hands-on experience in educational and trauma-related settings, she has supported children with a wide range of emotional, developmental, and behavioural needs. Her approach integrates Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), using practical, goal-oriented strategies to help young individuals build emotional regulation, social communication, and coping skills. In practice, Leanne tailors her interventions to meet each child’s unique needs. Whether that means using structured behavioural techniques to reinforce positive actions, or engaging creative play-based activities, Leanne aims to make therapy meaningful and enjoyable.

Leanne believes that therapy is a collaborative journey built on trust, empathy, and understanding. Her therapeutic philosophy centres on the idea that every child is capable of growth when given the right support and safe environment to explore their potential. She works closely with families and educators to ensure a holistic and consistent approach, valuing open communication and shared goals.

Through her volunteer work in community and mental health programs, Leanne has strengthened her empathy, communication, and leadership skills. These experiences have shaped her into a therapist who values compassion as much as competence, someone who listens deeply and guides patiently.

Outside of the clinic, Leanne enjoys skateboarding and drawing, activities that reflect her belief in creativity, courage, and resilience. Her energy in her work stems from these same values; seeing every step forward as an achievement, and every setback as a momentary challenge. Leanne seeks to encourage others to never give up on themselves, offering both guidance and hope to the young people and families she supports.
