Asha
“Talk to yourself like you would to someone you love” ~ Brené Brown
Asha is a clinical support staff at Thrive Psychology Clinic.
Asha is a postgraduate student at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) with plans to pursue a career in clinical psychology in an interdisciplinary work setting. She is interested in understanding human behaviour, development, and mental processes within the context of the intersection between women’s reproductive/family health and mental wellbeing.
Through her academic training Asha has acquired knowledge in data analysis and report writing, the recognition and understanding of various psychological disorders, and the ethics and professional standards of psychological practice and research. In addition to this, her volunteering experience in psychology and women’s reproductive/family health has led her to develop strong organisational and interpersonal skills. Collectively, these experiences have made her cognisant of the diverse nature of client presentations and the importance of avoiding a “one size fits all” approach in the treatment of mental health.
Asha approaches her work with an openness to experience and a willingness to learn. She looks forward to gaining insight into clinical operations and learning more about the family-centred model of care practiced at Thrive Psychology Clinic throughout her internship.
